Lake Louise is located about 175 miles from Anchorage and 46 miles from
the town of Glennallen. Sitting on the shoreline is The Lake Louise State Recreation Area which contains 500 of land. The lake and recreation site offer multiple activities for everyone.

Boating and fishing are a favorite pastime among lake goers. There is even a seaplane base for flight seeing and bush transportation. The recreation site offers camping, picnic shelters, restrooms, parking and a boat launch. Four private lodges located just outside of the recreation area offer boat rentals among other services. There are also various hiking and nature trails with many scenic view points.

Wildlife that are commonly seen in the recreation area include Brown bear, fox, moose, caribou, osprey, and eagles.
